Demographic challenge

Next to the depletion of natural resources, demographic change is by far the most significant challenge that Switzerland, Europe, and ultimately the whole world will have to face within the next 30-40 years. The coming decades will present us with a change which we have no historical experience to base our reaction on. This makes the task exceptionally difficult.

Even greater is the challenge for us as individual citizens, as we are personally responsible to prepare ourselves for these adjustments. We have to learn to handle change, diversification and the unknown with a strong sense of confidence and good judgement. However, this will only be possible if institutions can assuredly provide a high level of knowledge and support.
